Our purpose is to offer striking curated experiences that capture the essence and soul of a destination and its landscape, to forge meaningful global connections through our treasured hand-picked tour guides and tour leaders, and give a voice to true local artisans proud of their rich heritage, allowing you to embrace the elements with a place and its people through local culture, historical heritage, exclusive artisan food and wine events, artfully combined with active adventures paced accordingly to clients need, for people just like you. Expecially if you have grown in those areas and only if you are authentic you can share authenticity with generosity and commitment to those incredible places we live in. We each possess identities that have been shaped by the environment we grew up in, the values instilled in us from childhood, and the rituals we picked up along the way to adulthood. In our everyday work, we celebrate differences by focusing on attempting to achieve mutual cultural understanding with our clients while valuing life by taking things slow and soaking it all in. All of it would not have been possible without the daily work of our farmers, breeders, cheese-makers, winemakers, artisans, restaurateurs and hoteliers who with passion and respect for our land knows the importance to value its rhythm and work hard to guarantee development and economic opportunities in often difficult territories. We believe that the image of our country is strongly linked and best represented by the survival of these small-run family businesses who with their commitment have been exposed on the quality of living, healthy nutrition and conviviality, and therefore we advocate.
Since the first approach for our clients to find our business has moved on the web for quite some time, and as the searching engine constantly changes, we are purpose-driven and strive to remove the many barriers imposed by big online players who make it difficult to find direct quality information and services in a niche local market like ours that gives clients direct access to our partners without any hierarchical web red tape that generates overhead costs.
During the first lockdown of the worldwide pandemic covid 19, our group of creative, free-thinking individuals got together virtually around their kitchen tables and decided that they were hungry to do things differently. They wanted to break free from the shackles of traditional marketplace booking holdings and be 100% independent. To be free to do the best work possible, and not have to answer to any private equity firms, holding companies or indeed any other tentacle of the grotesquely swollen octopus of global online capital. The system for creative people has partially been broken whenever it puts algorithms over ideas. Quantity over quality. What’s easy to sell over what’s good. Money, brands, and just about everything else over the people who create by putting their hearts first. Artists, in general, have been paid either too little or too much, and that’s unfair. With mass tourism, every hidden and unspoiled place becomes eventually touristy, and we keep on running out of places to hide. International acclaimed travel guide books and tv travel shows at some point have used our local knowledge to get started, and we have learned not to give away anymore our secrets for a one-off deal. Big marketplaces keep establishing their brands to our detriment for a huge cat, consequently, they tend to promote mainly those that sell the most to the mass and bring them large volumes, offering not necessarily the most genuine local product. Big international travel agencies have rarely employed local guides directly offering a long-term contract under their payroll and they never will, maybe because our jobs are mainly seasonal or maybe because they think they can, but they expect us to reduce our income expectations if we want them to keep on bringing people to our destinations. As a consequence, this has left us without any support during the hard times, they say to their clients that they care, but they don’t. In the same way, independent local stores are finding it difficult worldwide to keep up with the giants like big megastores, shopping malls and online marketplaces, living us no other chance but to throw huge capital away on ads, etc. We definitely won’t need any of those unfriendly colossal if their money is not kept local. They robbed us several times, but that’s irrelevant.
